AI SEO services in San Diego, one measured change at a time.

Most AI SEO being sold is a new label on an old package. Mine starts with the questions your customers ask an assistant and a record of who gets named, before anything on your site changes.

What goes wrong when you buy AI SEO

  • The proposal lists deliverables but no measurement of AI answers
  • A promised ChatGPT placement that the agency cannot deliver
  • You pay twice for work your local SEO already covers

How the service runs

Scientific SEO

  1. 1 Measure You see the prompt list and every recorded answer, with the businesses and sources named.
  2. 2 Change one thing I tell you which single change I'm making and why I chose it.
  3. 3 Measure again You see the same prompts run again, set beside the baseline answers.
  4. 4 Keep what works You get a plain statement of what moved, and I choose the next change from that.

What the service includes

What AI SEO services consist of, step by step

AI SEO services, as I sell them, are a measurement of what AI assistants and Google’s AI answers say about your business, followed by changes to the things that decide whether it gets named. I offer this to San Diego County home-service companies, and I run it the way I run everything else: measure, change one thing, measure again, keep what works. The term spans both halves of AI visibility, which are AEO (Answer Engine Optimization) and GEO (Generative Engine Optimization).

What the work consists of

The steps run in this order.

  1. We agree on the questions your customers would put to an assistant: your trade, your main services and each city you serve. A plumbing company in Oceanside gets different prompts from a solar installer in La Mesa.
  2. I run those prompts and record which businesses are named and which sources are cited. That baseline is the AI visibility audit.
  3. I compare what the assistants said with your Google Business Profile, your listings, your reviews, your structured data and your key pages. This is where I trace wrong or missing facts to a source.
  4. I make the single change most likely to matter and tell you what it is.
  5. I ask the same prompts again.
  6. I report what moved and what didn’t, in the same report as your rankings and calls. Repeating this on a schedule is AI visibility tracking.

What it doesn’t promise

What an assistant says changes from one assistant to the next and from one day to the next, and no one can guarantee it. So there’s no promised recommendation, no promised position in an answer, no date by which answers will change, and no assurance that a competitor will stop being named. You pay for an accurate picture and careful changes, with an honest record of their effect.

How to tell real AI SEO from a relabeled package

Before you sign with any agency, including me, ask which prompts it ran for your business. Ask to see the recorded answers from before and after, and ask which single change it credits for the difference. An agency that tested its work can answer in a few minutes. A proposal that lists a monthly number of blog posts and the phrase “AI optimized” can’t.

When you don’t need a separate AI program

If your Google Business Profile lists the wrong services, or your phone number differs between your site and your listings, the gap is ordinary local SEO work and I call it that. Fixing it helps your map pack position and your AI answers at the same time, so you have no need for two programs that do the same job.

Who does the work

I do. I have 17 years in SEO and degrees in electrical and computer engineering, and I was born and raised in San Diego. You talk to me directly, with no account manager in between. If the baseline shows you’re already named where it counts, you’ll hear that from me too. There are no long contracts.

AI SEO services across San Diego County

Is AI SEO a separate service from local SEO?

Mostly no. The things that help an AI assistant name your company are largely the things that help you in the map pack: an accurate Google Business Profile, matching business facts, real reviews and clear pages. The part that is new is the measurement, which means running prompts and recording answers. I do both as one piece of work with one report.

Can you get my company recommended by ChatGPT?

That's outside what I or any agency can promise. What you get is a record: what ChatGPT and other assistants say today when asked about your trade in your cities, the likely reasons, the one thing I changed, and whether the answers moved. You judge the service on that record.

How long before AI answers change after a fix?

It depends on how the assistant gets its information. One that searches the web when answering can pick up a corrected page or listing once that page has been re-read. One answering from what it learned in training won't change until a newer model is released. I can't give you a date for either, so I ask the same prompts again and report what moved and what didn't, in the same report as your rankings and calls.

Do I need an AI SEO agency if I already have an SEO company?

Ask your current company first. If they can show you the prompts they ran, the answers they recorded and what they changed as a result, you're covered. If the answer is a slide about trends, the work isn't being done.

Start with a baseline, not a proposal.

Send me your trade and service area, and I'll run the prompts and show you the answers before recommending any work.

  • The questions tested, and the answers each assistant gave
  • Which competitors are named, and the sources the assistants cite
  • What I'd change first, in plain English
