Gemini is Google's AI assistant, and Google already keeps the most detailed record of your business. I check what that record says, test what Gemini tells homeowners in your cities, and fix the gaps between the two.
No long contracts. You talk to Simon.
I think I have a slab leak. Which plumber in Oceanside can come out this week?
Here are companies I would look at:
Scientific SEO
Gemini visibility is how often Google’s AI assistant names your business when someone asks it for a local recommendation, and whether what it says about you is correct. Because Gemini belongs to Google, the work starts with the information Google already holds about your company.
Google has connected Gemini to its other products, Maps among them. As far as anyone outside Google can observe, a local question in Gemini is often answered with businesses whose names, ratings and hours match their Google listings. That makes your Google Business Profile the single most direct statement of fact you control. It’s the same profile that feeds the map pack, so work done on it serves both.
An assistant can only repeat facts that are stated somewhere. Take a homeowner in Oceanside asking who can deal with a slab leak. A plumbing company whose profile says only “Plumber” and lists no services has given Google nothing that ties it to slab leaks. A profile with the right categories and services, slab leak detection and repair among them, has.
The same goes for the service area and opening hours, and for the wording customers use in reviews. I check each of these against what you really do, because a profile that claims more than the business offers causes its own problems.
Your site backs up the profile and fills in what a profile has no room for. A page about slab leak repair that says which cities you cover and what the job involves, with how to reach you, gives Google a second, matching source. Writing pages that can be quoted as a direct answer is answer engine optimization (AEO). If the profile and the site disagree about your services or your service area, I fix the disagreement before anything else.
Both come from Google and they are different things. AI Overviews appear inside search results. Gemini is an assistant a person opens and asks. I don’t assume a result in one tells me the result in the other, so each gets its own prompts and its own record.
I ask the questions your customers ask, write down which companies are named and what is said about yours, change one thing on the profile or the site, and ask again about two weeks later. That much I can promise.
A recommendation from Gemini is something no one can guarantee, and no one outside Google can see how it weighs one business against another. Answers change from day to day. A question that names Oceanside and one that says “near me” can also produce different companies.
Nearly everything that helps here’s Google Business Profile and local SEO work a home-service company should be doing anyway. If your profile is already complete and accurate, I’ll say so and not invent tasks. The part I add is the testing: a written record of what Gemini says, kept over time in AI visibility tracking.
Every engagement starts and ends with the same measurement.

The map pack and Gemini are separate systems, even though both belong to Google and both can draw on the same business listings, so a place in one doesn't automatically bring a mention in the other. A company with a strong, complete profile tends to give both more to work with, so they often overlap, but I have no basis to promise that one follows the other. I test each on its own and report them side by side.
AI Overviews appear at the top of a Google results page. Gemini is the assistant a person opens and talks to. Their answers can differ, so I keep separate records.
Yes. A service-area business hides its street address on Google and lists the cities it serves, and that is a normal, accepted setup. The service area has to be stated the same way on your profile and on your website, city by city. If Oceanside is in neither place, an assistant has no stated fact connecting you to an Oceanside question.
Change your profile only to make it accurate and complete. Stuffing keywords into the business name or listing services you don't offer breaks Google's rules and can get a profile suspended. An honest profile with every real service listed by name is what helps in the map pack and gives an assistant correct facts to repeat.
Give your business name and service area, and I compare what Gemini says with what your Google profile actually states.
